    My Zojiroshi is annoyingly effective at keeping my coffee hot, and the seal on the lid is extremely tight. The only problem I have with it is all of the parts in the lid. It's a hassle to clean, and there are many places in the lid in which stuff can get trapped and cause mold or mildew if you're not vigilant. Fortunately it never damages the lid since it's all silicone or hard plastic and you can just scrub it off, but I might take a crappier seal on a much simpler lid over the Zojiroshi design since I'm not flipping it upside down or anything.

    Looks like REI is sold out of the 16oz. They were priced same as 12oz a few days ago.

    I have an old one of these from Peet's the lid leaks like badly even at slight angles. So instead of addressing it they now sell a cap 2.0, great...... They knew about the problem for sure. It was a lot more expensive back then. Cap by itself is 7.65 might as well buy another bottle since the different is only $10.00.

    The lid seems like a PITA to clean... Looks like there are 5 pieces to the lid (the lid itself and 4 others pieces to make it "spill proof").

    Cool. Thanks. I have been looking for zijoroshi to go on sale so I can gift that to my dad. After his retirement he is traveling a lot and likes hus coffee a lot. He has thermoflask but it's not cutting to his coffee hotness needs.

    To add another point, I had a double walled klean kanteen and thought it did well to keep things hot, but the lid started to smell. I traded for the stainless steel lid, but the silicone o ring still started to pick up a scent. I bought a zojirushi, and have no such complaint after several months of use. Also, to make sure I include all the specifics: I drink my coffee black and I rinse the bottle/lid when I'm done drinking the coffee

    Then the zojirushi will definitely do the trick as far as keeping his coffee hot. Love mine going on 3 years. Still scalding hot after many hours post-pour.
