Does anyone know of any Black Friday deals at the Coach outlet stores? I'm in NJ and there is one nearby, but I have no clue what time they would open and what type of deals they have (extra discounts maybe). I could always call, but I thought I would ask here first. Thanks!

I remember from last year that they gave away a wallet to either the first 10 customers, or the first 10 customers who bought >$100 of stuff. I'm talking about the Aurora, IL outlet. The outlet was open at 12 am, and was jampacked! We literally parked on the grass. Anyway, there wasn't much to offer at these stores, and we left around 3 am.

the one near me used to open early in the morning (5 or 6)... for some unknown reason, they decided to open at midnight last year... it was horrifically chaotic... there were lines down the sidewalk and around the corner... there was a big risk of the entire inventory selling out... we didnt even bother... they have sales at every holiday (major and minor) and they have weekly deals as well... it simply wasnt worth the trip last year

Well have you ever visted them? Years ago there were few and they tended to have stuff that didn't sell for them or maybe they had an over stock and they would be a good deal.

Now I have at least 10 outlet malls within an easy 50 mile driving distance:
Cabazon, Desrt Hills, Ontario Mills, Orange, Citadel, Carlsbad, Elsinore, Camarillo, Las Americas, Viejas....

There are more Coach outlet stores than there are Coach Stores in this area.
How can they be getting the overstock or leftover stuff from the main stores???

You look at the merchandise and it says made in China, made in Indonesia, it does not have the same look, feel or anything close.

This not applies not only to Coach but Ralph Lauren, Nike, .Bass..

As I have said before, the Coach outlet store as of late has been selling merchandise made specifically for the outlet store. At the outlet store I go to, more than half of the merchandise is the outlet only stuff. You can get just a good a deal at Off Saks Fifth Ave most of the time..

You have GOT to be kidding me!

Try and back statements like that up with facts!!! Not just, "Have you ever visited them?"

Call Coach. Call Polo. The merchandise is all real made by them. And just for your information, most of the Coach you buy in the "real" Coach stores is made in China too! Some lines are made only for the outlets, but there is a TON coming straight from sister main stores. Nike has a limited amount of merchandise when it comes to style, but their items come straight from overstock and last years' model. Bass has become almost exclusively an outlet, but they have terrific quality. Polo is just like Nike...nothing is made specifically for the outlet store, it is all overstock or former years' models.

Do you think stores like this could get away with buying knockoffs and slapping their names on the merchandise with the trademark laws in this country? And, for you information, every single one of the above countries makes 75% or more of its merchandise in China, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It is just good business---cheaper, no healthcare to pay, and no EPA standards to abide by. And that includes both primary and outlet store merchandise.

So---back on topic! Coach employees have no idea yet about what specials will be offered for BF, but every outlet will pen as early as the outlet complex is doing so. If other stores in the outlet center are opening at midnight, so is Coach (most will be open at midnight).

excuse me pooh pooh, but it isn't a knock off if the people who own the trademark have the logo sewn on it. But it is the same crap that you find without the logo.
Which means you are buying it for the logo. Anyway sorry, didn't mean to TC but can't believe people fall for these marketing ploys.

The only thing that Coach has going for it is their brand. As pointed about above, a purse is a purse is a purse. It's a sewn together bag. It's not an evolving technology. The only reason anyone would pay $1000 for a purse is because of the name sewn on it.

It is patently absurd and ridiculous to suggest that Coach would purposely associate its brand with substandard quality merchandise just to sell stuff for a few bucks cheaper at an outlet store. Whether the person has 2300 posts or 23 posts, such a statement deserves to be challenged.

I like how the person highlighted the cheapness of labor overseas and that fact that these people work in sweatshops with no healthcare. It probably costs them 5-10$ in materials+labor to make a bag and they sell it for 300-500$. Now those are companies with a conscience :)

Not complaining, just think its amusing that its a selling point of overseas labor. I got my ex a Coach bag for Christmas last year.

Well... I will say this. Regardless of whether or not you purchase a Coach bag for full price at Bloomie's or for 70% off at the outlet, if the zipper breaks, they fix it. If a strap breaks, they fix it. You don't get that with WalMart purses. Also, if you buy "classic monogram" Coach, the stuff doesn't go out of style. IMHO, worth the extra expense.

I'm not touching the outlet with a 10ft pole on BF. I'll wait for Macy's F&F. =D

I was in a Coach store a few months back. The prices nearly made me laugh my ass off. I remember asking the saleswoman about the price of a dog collar and she said "$98". She said, "If it every wears down, though, we will fix it except for the cost of shipping which is about $20, so it is a bargain". A $100 dog collar is a bargain? Maybe if your inheriting a hotel chain. Anyways, I said, "If it wears down, there is no issue, I just bring it back?" She said, "Yes". I regret not getting it...my 90 pound Husky would have torn one of those into shreds during a commercial break. :)

As for the purses, she kept going on and on about this one $498 bag being an exceptional value. Any bag worth more than my car is not an "exceptional value".

I couldn't agree with you more. I tend to like the stuff at Bloomingdale's and Macy's better, however. They usually have better styles (plus if you go on F&F weekends you get 15% off coach products that are usually excluded from regular sales...I got an amazing deal on a chocolate brown monogram bag with gold hardware)...the stuff at the outlet is made specifically for the outlet and is usually not as good quality as in dept stores (although I have seen the occasional similar items come up in my shopping expeditions.)

Coach is expensive compared to Walmart. But it is reasonable to those who want to have a "nice" bag and can't afford to pay $1000-$3000 for Prada, Chanel etc. Personally, Coach doesn't look very good. It is like buying a Mercedes C class to flaunt your "wealth".

fabulous deals indeed!! i have purchased coach in department stores, closeout stores, Coach retail stores and at the outlet.. the factory outlets offer the best buys by far... these are not flea market knock off items... you can find lots of things from the classic coach lines, things in the current coach catalog as well as scores of out of season items and colors...

all that being said, it's just not worth the amazing hassle to fight the crowds to stand in line right after thanksgiving dinner... they have great bargains with additional percentages off at every holiday and they have weekly specials as well

as for the made in china thing, coach closed their new jersey, florida and italy factories years ago... you can still find some older bags on ebay that are labeled made in USA or Italy but but the new stuff is made elsewhere

If you want to buy Coach, Home Depot, Target, Gucci, XOXO, Prada, Walmart, it's your prerogative and no one else. You shouldn't bash someone based on their preferences.

The OP only wants to know about the Coach Outlet sales during BF. Truthfully, the bargains at the Coach Outlet are not worth the aggravation. The lines are out-of-control (people too).

You can always catch a great deal at the outlet during the holidays throughout the year i.e. Labor Day Weekend, Presidents' Day Weekend, etc. It's all about timing. You can also check out Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Macys, Dillards, etc. You can find some great deals on Coach & Dooney at these places too. Again, it's all about timing.

Can't we just get along

One the magazines (Marie Claire?) has often done a feature on why some things cost so much more. Often, it will be the use of materials...for example plastic features compared to metal. Sometimes it is hand stitching vs. a machine, centering of a logo on the material. The reasons are numerous. I am always rough on bags and my Coach outlet bags last longer than my attention span...which is more than I can say for the majority of most other purses I have purchased. I can say that they retain their value on eBay a lot better than other purses I purchase :)

Consumer Reports did a feature on outlet items vs. department store, assuming same brand. The noted some of the same things listed above. Sometimes the fit was a little different (which could be a positive or a negative). Sometimes the outlet item would even be more durable. For example, leather soles are expensive but may not last as long as rubber ones.

Almost all Coach bags are made in China now, both outlet, dept. store, and Coach website retail.

Indeed, as mentioned, Coach has an attention to detail and uses materials, and[I] has a lifetime warranty. . .with outlet prices, that makes them unbeatable in my opinion!

The outlet [I]does have lines made specifically for them. Sometimes slightly less expensive materials, but more mass-produced styles. Nothing quite as unique.

For your wife, check the outlets anytime. Go back in every 3-5 days. The very best deals are in clearance, and the clearance prices are always at least 20% off (30-40% on holidays and sidewalk sales, and I even bought at 50% once.) The reason these are the best deals is that they always have something from their "sister stores." The sister stores are Macy's, Nordstrom, or retail Coach stores that are getting in new lines and ship their leftovers to the outlet. They immediately go redlined into the clearance section, and then get at least an extra 20% off. THAT is a great deal!

I was in the store with the wife yesterday and they said they will not know the BF deal until Wednesday before. The manager did say she expected an additional 10-15% off and some special blowouts.

Having never experienced the 12:00 am madness, I asked what is it like. She only shook her head and said unbelievable. The shelves will be empty by about 1:00 pm. Last year's BF sales were over $600,000. For those of you without retail experience, that's about 25-30% of what you'd expect a similar sized store to do for the entire year.

I was at the outlets today, and stopped by just to ask if they knew anything about BF. They told me they don't know exactly what will be going on, but in prior years they usually do higher discounts at midnight and then every few hours, the additional discounts get a little lower. So she said for the best deals, to be there at Midnight. She also said in the next few days they should hear more, so to call back on Monday and they should know then.

The Coach outlets where I'm at (Las Vegas) are always 20% off, and for 4th of July they went to 30% off, so I'd expect at least that.

I've been watching the Coach website, Slickdeals, and the Internet in general for any news on Coach outlets for Black Friday, and I've found very little.

The most interesting information I came across was a brief story on the radio that indicated Coach had released figures that their store traffic was considerably lower than this time in previous years. In my mind, that should have been a trigger to get some BF announcements out there, but nothing official has been released.

My wife is practically begging for her first Coach bag, but at $398 (retail) I just can't pull the trigger. If I could get it down to $250-$300, that would be far more reasonable.

Has anyone ever purchased Coach via Ebay? I know their employees get rediculous discounts, and could then resell the handbags for a considerable profit.

Even though I have sold many real new authentic with tags coach purses on ebay ... i would never buy a bag off ebay since sooo many sellers are selling knock offs that look real. Even now my Dillards has a variety of coach bags at 25% off and for a coach that is a pretty good deal plus you have the satisfaction of knowing it is real. Who knows you may even get lucky and find one at Dillards that is 50% off... that is when i personally have scored all of mine.

somehow I felt currently that Burberry, DB, LV is more "class acceptable" than coach. more bragging rights I suppose for the material girls. "My Burberry is more $ than your Coach" And Prada is so the 90s.

I've seen really near perfect faked designer bags...and really, unless you're studying their bag design to the threads, no one can't really tell. They got all those authenticity tags too.

to be on topic, premium outlet will open at 12am, Coach outlet was known last year to have a long hour wait line (the only line) at the entire outlet. Nothing special was there besides the typical 20~30% additional markdowns. But you wait in line to get first picks.
I forgot which holiday, but one time they handed people an 10% coupon in store, could be the after xmas sale.

Don't knock on coach though...she has a friend thats into LV. Whereas I may put out ~300 per bag, that girls fiance puts out ~2000 a bag. She's smokin though so im sure its worth it.

Don't buy Coach stuff from fleabay. It's filled with fake stuff that are selling as authentic. You certainly don't want to buy a bag just to have your wife take it to the Coach store to find it's a fake. You won't be getting any morning exercise--if you know what I mean.

Agree 100%. I just bought some stuff for Mrs. Boraxo from the Outlet. It was not knockoffs but the same as the store. The only difference was the price (in most cases tagged with only 10% discount) though some items were discontinued and more heavily marked down.

I work at a Coach Outlet in FLorida and I can tell you there are some incredible deals right now, $300 - $400 purses from the full price store that are $80 - $100. We will open at 5:00am this year, last year we opened at 6:00 am and there were tons of people lined up. There will be an additional discount coupon given for the first few hours and some great special deals but those deals will be gone the first hour. The best thing to do is come at 5:00, get your coupon and load up with everything you want, if the line is too long and you want to shop someplace else, place the items on hold and come back later after you have done all your shopping, they will honor your percentage off coupon all day. My store is in Sawgrass Mills so its a perfect location because all the major stores are around us. I will be there at 5:00 to welcome all you SlickDealers, just ask for E! - Good Luck.

A $100 dog collar is a bargain? Maybe if your inheriting a hotel chain. .
Oddly enough, this describes my friend's girlfriend. She's pretty down to earth though.

That said, yeah, the wealthiest people I know don't really bat an eye at dropping $400 on a juicy couture jacket or whatever. But then again I've dropped lots of money on stuff too and I'm not an heir to anything-just an addicted slickdealer.

Anyways, I think we all know that a bargain is relative...a $100 dog collar could be a legit bargain if it's studded with diamonds and made out of solid gold. :lmao:

And to be honest, it's a better bargain than the $100 PDA I once bought that broke in like 2 months =(
(no warranty on it due to some legal spat-I'm talking about the @migo if anybody remembers)

Anyone go to Coach Outlet? The sale in Las Vegas was a joke. It was an extra 10% off your entire purchase. And the kicker was, they raised the prices on most of their purses that had been on sale, so they acutally would have been cheaper 2 days ago. The only thing on sale was the travel line (overnight bag, laptop bag, small suitcase, brief case bag) at 40% off. But for those looking for a purse, this sale sucks!

I got 3 purses for my wife for a total of 340 or 350 with tax after 35% sale price and 10% additional early bird. So averaged 110 per purse with a supposed savings of well over 300 dollars we did very well. Thanks to jellyb! This was the one in Sawgrass Mall, Sunrise, FL. Sorry you didn't make out as well.

My friend said her daughter went to Grove City, PA outlets and the the line at Coach was huge! They opened at 11 pm Thanksgiving night. I guess they were having huge deals though. She said next year her daughters are going to take turns standing in line while the others shop at the other stores. If I am off next BF, I am going to be an honorary sister with these chickies !

Macy's is doing their Friends & Family sale/coupon Nov 28 - Dec 3. Look for the coupon on this forum. Coach is included in this coupon. (This is the only coupon all year where Coach / D&B is included!)
