On Amazon last holiday season (between Black Friday and New Years), they were selling the PSP "phat" core system for around $175...give or take a few dollars depending on the time of day. That is about 13% off of the retail price of $199 back then for the PSP "Phat"
So they might run the same discount this year on the PSP Slim...taking 13% off of the retail price of $169, we end up somewhere around the $148 range.
Not bad for a PSP slim...if it happens like last year though.

Is there any substance to that rumor, anyone else heard it?
My friend just bought a used one at Gamestop for $130, if it's going to come down in price that much, I'll hold off before buying one of my own (and he might want to return his and wait, too)

I would also think that this happening is inevident because the same thing happened with the SP. One day it was $100 then the newer version came out. One moth later on BF the SP was $40!

As far as the deals, i wouldn't expect much for the slim, but I bet phat PSPs will be well below $100.

the "slim" one isn't really noticably slimmer
but it's definately lighter (33%)
not that the original psp was heavy to begin with...
yeah...I can imagine EB Games selling a used phat PSP for $60...but I wouldn't want to waste my time there when I can waste my time elsewhere
