Common Question.
So, what do you think?

Is that possible?

Store that:
Accept PMs:
Target (NOT PM, only PA)

Dont Accept PMs:
BestBuy
CircuitCity (I will try and find the policy they posted last year on their site about not pricematching any sale items on Thanksgiving's day, the day after, and the weekend following)
Staples

Bestbuy won't and I'm sure others will follow. Plus the BF loss leaders aren't put out beforehand so it's not like you can buy them anyways.

Here's what happens you guys...they purposely close their customer service areas until after the doorbusters/other early deals are pretty much done..they need everyone manning the registers. I went to CC last year..and it's a very nice and clean store small amount of people..but on BF it was living hell!! All the shelves were completely thrashed merchandise allover the floor, and the line going all the way to the end of the store..plus this was at 10am..some people who were there for the earlybird, were still waiting in line..that's about 5hours!! I can guarantee that CircuitCity and Bestbuy won't do it. Staples I was there last year...and eh...mostly everything was cleaned out and the no employees at the customer service desk. OfficeDepot on the other hand..was um..surprisingly empty like usual..i mean it had a few people..but I can tell that BF last year wasn't their strong point..Walmart..same old, same old..doorbusters gone, store a mess, and employees no where to be found...practically a regular day at walmart

To pricematch on BF is like financial suicide... okay maybe that's a little dramatic, but to allow pricematching on BF would guarantee HUGE losses!

Not that they have incredible deals, but Target WILL price match...or at least did last year. They run their ad for Friday and Saturday. I bought on Wednesday, went back at my leisure on Saturday and got a PM no problem...$100 off a gps.

Most places that I am aware of won't PM for anything advertised for the actual day BF. There are some rare cases and in that sense, very YMMV.

Staples did price match COMPETITOR's BF ads during the actual BF sale last year for me. But Best Buy and I went round and round until I was banned from a store for trying to price match BF stuff.

+1. I have done this at Target the past 2 years. I buy on Wed and come back in at my leisure on Friday.

Last year, Meijer let me price match ads from competitors. The one nearest my house was actually really empty for BF, so it was nice to go in there and get the DVDs and CDs instead of actually going to Best Buy.

Circuit City will still Price ADJUST. Last year, I bought a GPS for $300 and had them price adjust it on BF when it was on sale for $149. NP - they just gave me my cash. Don't think it was a doorbuster though.

That's not a PM, that's a PA (Price adjustment). Target never PM's (price matches other stores.)

Gee whiz, home skillet. What did you do to get yourself banned? Did you go Grape Ape on the joint and start knockin' stuff over like a 40 foot gorilla-la-la-la? :lmao:

CC will adjust anything other then the door buster items.. When I heard about the Sony Bravia that was going on sale for 1199.00 last year I went online Thursday night and bought it for 1699.99. Then went into the store around 8 or 9 had them price adjust it and add the 10% coupon so it was 1088+tax...

Last year I was able to PM a popular DVD that was completely out at CC and BB. IT wasn't on sale at Walmart, so they had tons! However.. big ticket items... YMMV lol.

Three years ago or so, I fondly remember the customer service centers at Best Buy being open on Black Friday. I arrived at the store a little after 8 AM, picked up the DVDs I wanted then went straight to Customer Service. Many waiting in line didn't understand what I was doing.

It was beautiful.

But now that Best Buy has their customer service center closed on BF, I find the best way to get a good deal is to purchase non-Door Buster items a few days before Thanksgiving. (Items that can bought at a sale price on both Friday and Saturday.) Then I'll wait until Saturday, take the ad to the store and pricematch then.

In doing so, they'll tack on 10% of the difference. Granted, I've only really tried this with DVD purchases, but I may look to pick up a non-Doorbuster LCD or Plasma this year.

Can you imagine a great sale price plus 10% of the difference (especially if the Best Buy pre-Thanksgiving price is astronomically high)?

I thought WM was the only store that will price match on BF? BB told me last year that they can only do it after 12 noon. I never have a problem PM at WM - I bring all the ads with me and get everything I want.

Yep I seem to recall doing a PM at WM last year (or maybe it was the year before that, don't recall). Nobody else in town would even entertain the notion, however.

On Wed night at Staples in New London CT, I bought the 4gb Sandisk USB Flash drive for 79.99 and 2 Motorola H350 Blue Tooth earpieces for 49.99 each. 190 bucks total.

Manager was really a jerk when i asked him about a price adjustment on Friday.

Staples really had no argument when I showed up at 630am Friday (had to wait in line at the register for 40 mins, even though i got right in). I brought the printed online price match policy with me, and the current ad showing no restrictions. Didn't have to use it though. I argued that I bought the items Wed as presents, THEN I saw the flyer on Thursday. Not letting them know that I saw the ad 8-10 days earlier online.

They refunded me 118 dollars on the spot, plus rebates (10.00 on the flash drive, and 5.00 on the H350's. I may only get 1 of the 5.00 rebates since I bought 2 of the H350's).

I was prepared just to return them, but this actually worked.
